BIOGRAPHY:
Teale Orban was the epitome of an inspiring student-athlete. Orban flourished on the football field and in the classroom, becoming one of the conference’s most respected individuals in both arenas. As the quarterback for the Regina Rams, Orban was named the Canada West Player of the Year in both 2006 and 2007. His dominance on the field was evidenced by the records he set over his five-year career.
Orban was the first-ever Canada West player to surpass 9000 yards in career passing. His record, 9449, stood as the mark to beat for a decade. He still holds the records for career touchdown passes (76) and touchdown passes in a season (26).
He remains in the conference’s top three in pass yards in a single game, career pass completions, and career TD responsibility.
Orban’s success on the field was mirrored in the classroom, where he excelled in business administration. He was named the Canada West Outstanding Student-Athlete in 2007 and 2008, proving his dedication in sport and academics.
Orban, a two-time University of Regina Male Athlete of the Year, also scooped up a CIS First-Team All-Canadian honour and three conference All-Star awards in his Canada West career.
